Kanha National Park is the largest national park of Madhya Pradesh & a feast for the eyes for wildlife enthusiasts.

An epitome of conservation, successful rehabilitation of the Hard ground Swamp Deer ( Barasingha ) speaks about the dedication & efforts of the forest dept as well as the local population.

It is also the first tiger reserve in India to officially introduce a mascot, “Bhoorsingh the Barasingha”.

After a refreshing early breakfast, board our vehicle & proceed for Bandhavgarh National Park ( 250 kms | 5 hrs drive ).

On the way, we take you to Ghughwa Fossil National Park.

Ghughua Fossil Park is a National Park, located near Shahpura in Madhya Pradesh, India, in which plant fossils belonging to 31 genera of 18 families have been identified.

The site was founded during the 1970s by Dr. Dharmendra Prasad, a statistical officer of the Mandla district and honorary secretary of the district archaeology unit. It was declared a National Park in 1983.Numerous plant, leaf, fruit, seed, and shell fossils can be found in this park, some of which dates as far back as 65 million years,the most prominent of which are the palm fossils.

Bandhavgarh is a place of mythological and legendary significance. The ancient Bandhavgarh Fort is of great importance as it is believed to have been gifted by Lord Rama to his younger brother Lakshmana. ‘Bandhav’ in English means brother and ‘Garh’ means fort. Hence the name, Bandhavgarh. Bandhavgarh dates back to 2000 years ago and you will find several man made caves with inscriptions and rock paintings.

Bandhavgarh is also the land of tigers. This is the place to visit if you want to spot the big cat. India’s top dwelling for tigers, Bandhavgarh National Park has the highest density of Royal Bengal tigers in the world. The sight of the majestic tiger, up close and personal, is said to trigger a sense of awe in you, of the kinds you would have only experienced in your childhood.

Post breakfast, c/out & proceed for Khajuraho ( 225 kms | 5.5 hrs drive ).

On the way, visit Raneh Falls.
The Raneh Falls is a natural water fall on the Ken River, located in Chhatarpur district. The Ken River forms a 5 kilometres long, and 30 metres (98 ft) deep canyon made of pure crystalline granite in varying shades of colours ranging from pink and red to grey. There is a series of waterfalls in the canyon. The larger and smaller falls run all through the year. Other seasonal falls appear during monsoons. It is about 20 kilometres away from Khajuraho. The Ken Gharial Sanctuary is located at the confluence of the Ken and Khudar rivers further down from Reneh Falls.The Ken river here runs through a narrow gorge of igneous rocks rich in Granite and Dolomite.

Post breakfast, we take you to visit the “Western Group of Temples”.

Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh is famous for groups of Hindu and Jain temples. These temples are a UNESCO World Heritage Site for their beautiful and erotic rock carvings.

Built between 950-1050 AD by the Chandela Dynasty, these temples depict various forms like meditation, spiritual teachings, kinship, wrestling, royalty and most significantly, erotic art. The temples consist of stunning displays of fine sculptures and exceptional architectural skill, making them one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India.

Based on their geographical location, the temples are categorized into three groups: Eastern, Western and Southern. Beautiful, intricate and expressive, the sculptures of the Khajuraho temples will leave you in awe and wonder.

Later, visit the Eastern & Southern group of Temples.

End the day with a magnificent & spectacular “Light & Sound” show at the premises of the temples.

Post breakfast, c/out & proceed for Orchha ( 175 kms | 3.5 hrs drive ).

Arrive Orchha, c/in & after rest, proceed for sight seeing.

The historic town of Orchha, nestled on the banks of river Betwa, was founded in the 16th century by the Bundela Rajput Chief, Rudra Pratap. Here, the river Betwa splits into seven channels, also called the Satdhara. Legend goes that this is in honour of the seven erstwhile Chiefs of Orchha.

The ancient town seems frozen in time, with its many monuments continuing to retain their original grandeur even to this day. Here you will find some of the most fascinating temples and palaces that will help you realise a childhood fantasy – travelling back in time !

Do not miss the “Light & Sound show” in the evening.

Have an early breakfast & proceed for Jhansi.

One of the most important venues of India’s first war of independence in 1857 and the erstwhile capital of Rani Lakshmibai’s kingdom. Jhansi serves as the gateway to Bundelkhand region.

The artistic grandeur of the Chandelas is still evident in the monuments and other ancient structures standing in the city. Apart from the historic fort of Jhansi, magnificent temples, churches,the Government Museum and the Rani Mahal, Jhansi is also home to a military aviation base.

Later, proceed for Jhansi railway station/Jabalpur to catch your flight/train for home feeling contented about a memorable holiday spend at “Madhya Pradesh : The Heart of Incredible India”.
